Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE): Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE) is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood are gently modified to be more acoustically perfect - recreating the characteristics of the woods in instruments that have been played for years.
New Designed Bracing Pattern: A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L Series’ characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone.
Ergonomic Traditional Neck Profile: A re-evaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today’s raditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.
5-Ply Necks: The 5-ply neck of mahogany and rosewood designed with a volute at the headstock plus a double action adjustable rod creates a neck with excellent strength and stability.
LJ Body: The LJ body shape is designed to be comfortable when seated. While volume output is a little less than the LL shape, the LJ offers a wide dynamic ange, a low-end with strong presence, and a crisp on that accommodates a wide range of playing styles from lead to strumming.
Lacquer Finish: Lacquer finish is carefully applied in multiple layers using a skilled technique. This approach results in a finish that does not block the wood’s ability to resonate, delivering outstanding response and a rich tone. Specially formulated to bring the best in tone, this lacquer (nitrocellulose lacquer) is used on the L56 and L36 lines.
